Lessons from Evaluating the Mitigation Action Plans and Scenarios Programme

On October 21, 2004 David Shandler, Envronmental Resources Management (ERM), Lisa Constable (ERM), and Nalini Tarakeshwar, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, presented Lessons from Evaluating the Mitigation Action Plans and Scenarios Programme. Download the full presentation.

The Mitigation Action Plans and Scenarios (MAPS) programme aims to integrate climate policy with socio-economic development objectives over a sufficiently long timeframe to be relevant for infrastructure decision-making in developing countries.  The programme’s funders (the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation) require regular evaluation of the impact and effectiveness of MAPS’ activities in the four Latin American countries of Brazil, Columbia, Chile and Peru currently implementing the programme.  Environmental Resources Management has been supporting CIFF with the independent evaluation of the MAPS programme and the approach to evaluation has changed significantly since the start of the work in 2011. This webinar will look at how the methodology for evaluating MAPS has changed over the past 3 years and what lessons can be learned for evaluating other climate change advocacy programmes.
