5th National Evaluation Capacity Conference

The Independent Evaluation Office (UNDP), the Regional Bureau for Europe and CIS (UNDP), the Government of Turkey and the European Evaluation Society (EES) will host the 5th National Evaluation Capacity (NEC) Conference from October 16-20, 2017 in Istanbul, Turkey. The theme of this year's conference is focused on people, the planet and progress in the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) era. The conference will be a mix of plenary sessions and parallel strands, and focuses on the following objectives:

  • Present and exchange lessons, experiences and perspectives in developing and adapting national evaluation capacities in light of the SDGs;
  • Explore implications of the SDGs for principles and practices of evaluation;
  • Develop partnerships to strengthen national evaluation systems.
